Why Korean speakers learn Japanese fast한국어 화자가 일본어를 빨리 배우는 이유

A huge share of Japanese vocabulary is Sino-Japanese — and so is Korean.일본어 어휘의 상당수는 한자어이고, 한국어도 그렇습니다.

The app ranks every word by a five-tier "transfer grade" — how close its sound and meaning sit to the Korean word built from the same Chinese characters. Words in the easiest tier (T1) already make up 5,310 of the 9,511 cards, so more than half the vocabulary arrives sounding like something you already half-know. 모든 단어를 같은 한자로 된 한국어 단어와 소리·뜻이 얼마나 가까운지에 따라 5단계로 나눴습니다. 가장 쉬운 단계(T1)만 해도 9,511개 중 5,310개라서, 절반이 넘는 단어가 처음 봐도 어딘가 익숙하게 들립니다.

Each of the 1,809 kanji also carries its Korean Hanja sound side by side with its Japanese on'yomi — 1,808 of them — so you see directly why 年 sounds like "년" in Korean and "ネン" in Japanese, instead of memorizing the two as unrelated facts. 한자 1,809자 중 1,808자에는 일본어 음독과 나란히 한국 한자음이 붙어 있습니다. 年이 한국어로 '년', 일본어로 'ネン'으로 읽히는 이유를 따로 외우지 않아도 한눈에 이해할 수 있습니다.

A day's portion, not an endless list끝없는 목록 대신 하루 분량만

Words come out of 29 chapters in small daily batches instead of one long list, so a session fits on the train. 단어를 29개 단원으로 나눠 하루 분량씩만 공부하므로, 지하철에서도 한 번에 끝낼 수 있습니다.

Every card carries an example sentence and a Korean gloss, and comes back on an FSRS spaced-repetition schedule. 모든 카드에 예문과 한국어 뜻풀이가 있고, FSRS 간격 반복 일정에 맞춰 다시 나옵니다.

Yes. The app is free to install and supported by ads. All 9,511 words and 1,809 kanji are free. The app assumes you can already read hiragana/katakana and focuses purely on vocabulary — it's not a from-scratch beginner course. 히라가나·가타카나는 읽을 수 있다는 전제에서 단어 학습에만 집중합니다. 글자부터 가르쳐 주는 입문 과정은 아닙니다.
